I was noting to Chevy between drinks, catty remarks about other women, and boot purchases recently that I have noticed an unusual increase in traffic here. True, it was only a matter of time before my good deed doing and general being rightness would spread around the world like a plague, but nonetheless I was curious as to what spurred it.
And when I say a large increase of traffic, I am deadly serious. There are literally tens of hits a day pouring in here folks. For reals.
Well, it turns out the Chronicle has linked me as a notable Houston blog. Now, I'm not so sure what exactly this says about Houston, aside from having fantastic taste and being ridiculously good looking, but I do know what it means for me. All my online profiles will now be able to include 'notable' in my 8 paragraph brief description of myself. And I can totally prove it's true.
Also, have you picked up your Chronicle yet today? It's worth the read, I hear they are moving in a fantastic new direction. Might want to just go ahead and subscribe.

Yeah, that happened to me, too. Doubled my traffic over night, but it didn't last. At least, not at the levels it first generated.
All that aside, though, how cool is it that a big venue like chron.com linked you? Makes you feel like you should write something just for them, right?

I tried to thank them for the honor by suggesting the tens of people flocking here subscribe. If they are lucky they might make enough to buy a coffee at Starbucks. (I saw you on the list too!)
I'm not sure if anyone is 'ready'. I can just imagine some out of towners stumbling across this.

Meatless in Houston? I may be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure you could get a right good whuppin' for that in these here parts. This here is a meat eatin' state.

Hmm... We recently canceled our subscription. I do continue to read the Chronicle online, though. Which is where I would see mention of a blog.
Me too. Why would I 1. pay for it to be thrown at my house when I can access it without having to get up and 2. want to get my fingers all icky and news-printey.
